(Translation) November 10, 1999 Subject : Company's performance for the third quarter in 1999 Attention : Director and Manager of The Stock Exchange of Thailand Thanulux Public Company Limited would like to inform the performance as shown in the financial statement for the third quarter in 1999. The company's net profit, the same period of time, was different more than 20% from last year. Net profit in 1999 was Baht 10.95 million, net profit in 1998 was Baht 40.02 million. It decreased Baht 29.07 million from last year or was equal 72.64%. The accumulated profit in 1999 was Baht 76.84 million as for Baht 131.38 million in 1998, it decreased Baht 54.54 million or equal to 41.51%. The explanation of the decline of profit are as followings:- - Quarter This year, the company got loss from impairment of assets amounting Baht 27.61 million which followed "Thai accounting standards" chapter 36th "The impairment of assets" and chapter 40th "Accounting for investment in debt and equity securities". The company gained Baht 6.26 million from currency exchange which was Baht 6.67 million lower than last year. - For 9 months period 1. The company got loss from impairment of assets amounting Baht 27.61 million. 2. The company gained Baht 8.67 million for currency exchange in 1999, Baht 26.87 million in 1998, decreased amount Baht 18.20 million. 3. The increment of production capacity, factory employee and wage in February all of these had effected the cost of sell 4. Investment income based on the equity method decreased Baht 6.07 million from last year. Please kindly acknowledge the above matters.
